Skyspace 1 ‘Dematerialisation and Newton’s Law’ and Skyspace 2 ‘Twilight and the Rising of the Night’ are two experiential texts alongside images of James Turrell’s Cat Cairn Skyspace. Cat Cairn is sited within Kielder Forest and Water and lies within a large area of designated International Dark Skies, near to Kielder Observatory.
Skyspace 1 experiences events during a grey rainy day in March and includes an interview with Art + Architecture Curator Peter Sharpe
Skyspace 2 experiences a sunny evening in mid-October with the Skyspace interior twilight lighting programme during phasing of daylight between sunset and dark skies. This book includes an interview with Eleanor Bell
The Skyspace interior twilight lighting was designed by James Turrell and installed by Light Artist and Lighting Designer Eleanor Bell.
